Loknat (2013; “Stutter”), a political, historical, and mythical novel by Amir Hossein Yazdanbod, made a good impression on readers and reviewers. Its portrayal of war events in both mythical places and real locales such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iranwas uncanny, uncertain, surreal, and highly debatable. It encouraged readers to ponder the relationship between fiction and history. Yazdanbod’s other work,Porterah-ye mard-e nātamām (2009; “Portrait of an Incomplete Man”) received the annual Golshiri and Gam-e Aval awards.
